Everything you have heard about Victor's Cafe is true. After celebrating 45 years, this family-run New York treasure is still getting it right. Consistently serving fine authentic Cuban cuisine in New York City, the zesty black beans, the roast suckling pig, the paella, and the tropical sangria are still as delicious as ever. Perfect for a pre- or post- theater meal, business lunch, private party or simply to enjoy the perfect mojito in the Cuba Lounge. Stop by Manhattan's Cuban connection for it's unforgettable fare that is sure to keep you coming back.

I had dinner with two acquaintances last Friday since the weather was fairly warm comparing to the frigid weather we had to endured for a couple of days. And it's restaurant week - whoo hoo. Pre-fix dinner was 35 bucks. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria, which cost 39 bucks - expensive. I had three glasses. It was very sweet and yummy

Appetizer - we all ordered Salad of mixed greens with asian pear, manchego cheese, candy cane beets and amontilado sherry vinaigrette. It was presented to us in a big bowl. Great size and tangy. Good.

I had the tilapia. The waiter messed up with my order but was very courteous of getting my plate as quick as possible since the other two people's plates were done. The waiter apologized many times. I had the fish and it was very tender and delicious.

Suckling pig marinated in sour orange juice, olive oil, garlic and herbs, handcarved and served with cassava in garlic mojo and moros and cristianos

Grilled fillet of tilapia with a creamy boniato puree, gilled asparagus and fuit salpicon

Dessert

Flan (no image)

After $170 dollars later, I was very content....and...

We were given a mojito shot. Very yummy.
