Les Halles - O-la-la

Les Halles
411 Park Ave South
New York, NY 10016

My boyfriend's sister reserved a dinner at Les Halles at 8pm for his departure to Singapore. Las Halles was supposedly known for their fries, which is fried in truffle oils creating a earthy taste. The place was dark and crowded. I came early and decided to stay at the bar. A nice couple gave up a seat for me which was very sweet. I ordered a glass of chardonnay, which cost $10.30. It was the oddest price.

At 8:30, everyone arrived, We got seated in two tables for 12 people. The waitress was fabulous. Service was great but could do better with the water refills.

I decided to have two appetizers since I wasn't in the mood for a huge entree since everyone chose steaks and fries. Crab cake was great. It has a crisp taste. It was moist and very tasty. The Calamari was awful. It had too much garlic which has that nasty taste and absurd texture. Vince wasn't happy with his hanger steak. It wasn't that tasty. Overall, it was a great experience.

Crab Cake with cilantro, peppers and lemon $14.50

Grilled Calamari with shaved fennel salad $9.25

Hanger steak, shallot sauce (with french fries) $21.00
