Essex Restaurant

Essex Restaurant
120 Essex Street
New York, NY 10002

View of the Interior

I invited myself to a friend's birthday dinner at Essex in Lower East Side. I rarely go around lower Eastside for a bite. Since I had to go to a party at The Delancey, it gave me a chance to go to one.

The facade of Essex very dark and mysterious, especially a big bouncer standing in the front. I stepped and encountered a narrow space with pretty hanging ornaments hanging on the ceiling. Very romantic. Narrow space can be a little difficult and walking around. The tables were very close to each other. The busboy kept spilling water on my pants every time he gave me water. The food was delicious. Great prices.

Hamburger empananadas $6

Talipias Cerviche with homemade tortilla Chips $8

Roasted Duck Breast with Ginger demi-glaced kasha varnish & Broccoli rabe $17

Filet Mgnon with Sweet Potato Fries, mixed greens with charmula sauce $24
