Usually, I would go to Shabu Shabu in Queens for my Hot Pot. After Little Lamb, I can't go to any other hot pot joints again. I grew eating hot pot with my family on special occasions like Thanksgiving or Xmas. My family decided to go last weekend for Little Lamb. What I love about this place is the soup base. They add so much herbal items such as ginger, dried cranberry roots and more to create this great taste. The lamb and beef were so fresh and tasty after it is cooked in the soup base. They have around 20 dipping sauces of your likely. The price is great. The service was fast. The ambiance is superb with two plasma TV blasting Chinese (Mandarin) Music Videos and a huge sparkling golden vase in the front. The food is fulfilling.
Definition on Hot Pot for newbie.
Hot pot (Chinese: 火锅; pinyin: huǒ guō), or less commonly Chinese fondue, refers to several Chinese varieties of steamboat stew. It consists of a simmering metal pot of stock at the center of the dining table. While the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table. Typical hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leafy vegetables, mushrooms, wontons, egg dumplings, and seafood. The cooked food is usually eaten with a dipping sauce. In many areas, hot pot meals are often eaten in the winter.
