Trip to Orchard Beach

I decided to head to Orchard Beach on a nice weather. I took my brother's car and drove to the beach. It was my first time driving more than 4 miles, so I was nervous. I paid 6 bucks for the parking. Laid in the sun. I'm trying to get a tan before the summer offically ends.

Little info about Orchard Beach

Orchard Beach is a public beach in the New York City borough of the Bronx. It is located in Pelham Bay Park on Long Island Sound. It is run and operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

The beach was created by Robert Moses by filling in approximately one third of Pelham Bay with landfill. It took a total of 1.2 million cubic yards of sand, brought by barge from Sandy Hook in New Jersey and the Rockaways in Queens to build Orchard Beach. The landfill was put between Rodman's Neck, Twin Island and Hunters Island; the latter two are no longer islands, but are now connected to the mainland Bronx by the landfill.

It called "Cocha" Beach. If you know Spanish, it's not a good word.

On the weekend, Orchard Beach is filled with Salsa and Merengue lovers to celebrate the entertainment.

As a female, you should be careful when the beach is crowded. You will definitely get harassed.
