Police: Serial Slasher Targets Asian Women



NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a suspect in at least three slashing attacks on Asian women in Manhattan in the last two months.

Each victim was cut on the right arm while walking in midtown or the Lower East Side. No one was seriously hurt.

The latest attack was on August 17th at around 1:30 in the afternoon. Police say a 35-year old woman was slashed on Chrystie Street near Delancey.

The other two attacks were on July 16th, in the morning and in the afternoon.

A 32-year old woman was slashed while walking on West 32nd street between 5th and 6th Avenues. Later that day, a 46-year old woman met the same fate downtown, on Grand Street near Chrystie.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, 25-30 years old, 5'8"-5'11" tall with a slim build. He was wearing a light gray sweatshirt with the numbers "09" on the back.
