I've been having my slice from John and Joe's Pizza since 1985 when it was only 95 cents. It has inflated to 2 bucks but it's worth it. I think it's the best pizza in New York, I'm not sure if it's the dough or the special tomato sauce or the preparation.
It was opened by two Italian men, John and Joe. John is my favorite, a jolly, white headed guy with a friendly smile. He always greets me with a smile and says "Ciaos" when I leave with my food. His son, Ang, probably around my age, has his smile as well.
If you come to the Bronx, definitely try a slice. I also request extra sauce for more flavor. Also, there salad slice is the best for $3 bucks. They also serves yummy Italian platters and hot heroes.
